In Memory Of Dai Lin

“Prison can not subjugate our bodies, dictatorship can not bend our thoughts. In the same vein, state machinery can not dictate our curriculum outlines, control our education and enslave the soul of any free man!”, pledged by Tool Youth Organization in the 2nd anniversary of remembering Dai Lin at Chi-nan Presbyterian Church in the afternoon on July 30.

Dai Lin, an outspoken leader of a high school student movement of protesting against an politically motivated adjustment of curriculum outlines, died in an apparent suicide to deliver his strongest resistance to the authoritarian policy of the KMT government under President Ma Ying-jeou on July 30, 2017.

Reflecting many dimensions of current Taiwan education, like curriculum outlines evaluation committee of Ministry of Education, student rights, policy of language education, education by service, aboriginal curriculum outlines and etc, many leaders of educational groups, student organizations and  PCT church attended this commemorative service to pay tribute to Lin’s passionate sacrifice and decisive love for Taiwan.
