Taichung Prison Fellowship Send Christmas Gifts To Children Of Inmates

Reported by Simon Lin

On December 25, when a Christmas celebration service was held for Taichung Prison’s inmates in the prison, their hearts were emotionally touched to learn that about 300 parcels of Christmas gifts from Santa Clause had already been delivered to their beloved children. This charity event for prison inmates, entitled as Angel Tree Ministry, is run by the Prison Fellowship of Taichung Branch for years.

Sister Wang Su-ming, a volunteer worker of Taichung Prison Fellowship and a member of Tong-Rong Presbyterian Church of Taichung Presbytery, expressed that the charity ministry for the inmates’ children and families is not only compliant to biblical teachings on caring for widow and orphan but also very powerful to witness God’s compassionate love and draw people to Him.

In order to feedback their thanks-giving, for example, two former prison inmates, whose children were receivers of this annual Christmas charity by Taichung Prison Fellowship, came back to join the Angel Tree Ministry after their release from the prison, Sister Wang said. “If the inmates could be accompanied for a period of time, we could see that God’s love will touch their hearts for sure!”, she said.
