PCT Beach Cleanup Attracts Citizens from Japan, Philippine and Taiwan

Reported by Lin Yi-yin

To practice one of the PCT evangelical missions, Care the Creation of God, both Taipei Presbytery and Hsin-Chu Presbytery held beach cleanup events at San-Zhi Beach (New Taipei City) and Guan-Yin Beach (Taoyuan County) respectively on Sept. 24.

Rev Chang Soh-en, convener of beach cleanup for Taipei Presbytery, expressed that about 430 PCT members across 30 churches were recruited to engage in the event. Rev Chang gave his high regard for the beach cleanup, as people could respond the calling to care our environment and take actions through fellowship.

Rev Lee Tsun-ming, director of Church and Society Committee of Hsin-Chu Presbytery, said that the beach cleanup event at Guan-Yin Beach not only attracted 66 PCT members but also inspired Mr Mitsuru Ushio, chairman of TDK Corporation Taiwan, leading his 100 staffs from Japan and Philippine to join this significant community service.

Though people from Japan, Philippine and Taiwan could not talk fluently to each other amid beach cleanup, their frank and sincere exchange via body language encouraged the assembly to work together beyond boundaries for a better tomorrow, said Rev Lee.
