Caring the Least in Prison, Kaohsiung Keng-Seng Fellowship Witness God’s Love

In the evening on October 27, the Kaohsiung Keng-Seng Fellowship (KKSF) held a thanksgiving dinner, inviting the Blind Choir of Eden Social Welfare Foundation to sing hymnals, and three Christian rehabilitated brothers, including Mr Lee Ming-hsian, Mr Wu Chia-hong and Mr Chang Luo-ming, to witness and share the healing and love from our Lord Jesus Christ.
KKSF expressed that the ministry for the prisoners is a critical service to fight against criminal recidivism. The mission of KSRF is not not only limited to preach and educate the prisoners in jail, but also provides various charity programs, including ”Angel Trees” for serving the prisoners’ family and children, “Mulberry Trees” for criminal victims, and “Cedar Trees” for the parents of the prisoners.
Rev Chen Jien-yueh, chairman of KKSF, emphasized that the spirit of KKSF is to follow the biblical callings, revealed by the verses of “I was in prison and you visited me” and “caring one of the least of my family members, you did it to me” (Matthew 25:36, 40).
He believes that only the love of Jesus can make people “born again” and sincerely urges Taiwan churches to invite more people to see Jesus in prison and share his love to the incarcerated.
Rev Pan Chi-hao, director of the KKSF, explained that there are more than 200 families in the program of “Angel Tree” this year. This program, he said, is to invite the church to contact the children of the prisoners during the Christmas season, and take care of them in various ministries of charity. So, a Sunday ministry report of the PCT’s Prisoner Rehab Program in 2025 deserves more attention and care from all PCT member churches, he called.
Mr Lee Ming-hsian witnessed that he lost himself to secular pleasures, such as alcoholic addiction, money games and hedonic feasts during the pandemic, and his marriage and family was therefore broken. In addition, his daughter was found to have leukemia, which made his life hopelessly shattered. Only God did save him, he confessed, and deliver healings and health to his most dear daughter and family.
Mr Wu Chia-hong shared his family relatives’ fears and misunderstandings toward him after his release from the prison. He turned such humiliated alienation into violence and vented his anger on his innocent children, he said, and even got a stroke later and intended to commit suicide once. Like being rescued from a devouring current, he gave his thanksgiving to experience God’s healing and comfort, blessed with hopes to launch a new life again.
Mr Chang Luo-ming frankly expressed that he was raised by his father in a semi-military style of education since he was a child and learned well how to suppress his emotions in front of his father. He became easily agitated when he came of the age, especially in his addiction of drugs, until the biblical teachings made his heart to humble down. After being released from prison, he no longer joined the mafia through the support from KKSF. He gave his praise to Jesus for granting a new life in him.
