Chiayi Namen Church Offering New Church Building For Evangelical Mission In Community

Along the famous Bazhang River, a new building of Chiayi Namen Presbyterian Church is formerly opened to serve the community with Jesus’s good news in the afternoon on December 9.
Led by an manually copied Holy Bible, Rev Long Ray-hua, pastor of Chiayi Namen Presbyterian Church, together with church elders, deacons and many guests walked into the new church building amid the cheering welcome performed by Amazing Drum Team from Chó-tìn Presbyterian Church.
In his sermon, Rev Tsai Kuo-cheng, Moderator of Chiayi Presbytery, encouraged the church members transforming all those bitter failures or unpleasant experiences in the past ten years into the praise and thanksgiving toward God.
The more important lesson to learn from such a process of building church is not to be contented with the hardware or church outlook which was finally completed, but to listen, forgive and love each other as ourselves, Rev Tsai said.
In order to let the audience understand the vision of the consecration of this new church, Rev Long specially explained to the audience the respective meaning of two crosses installed: the one inside the new building meant “Holy Spirit, like water, flow into our hearts”; the other one at the church front suggested that “Imitate Jesus making himself nothing”.
