Paintings Of Distant Village Children Exhibited For A Beautiful Future

Reported by Lin Wan-ting

To encourage more urban residents to care for the education and development of the children at distant villages, mostly aboriginal children in the mountains, a children painting exhibition was held at the famous SKB(Wen Min Fountain Pen MFG Co) branch store at Kaohsiung from December 5 to 23.

Jointly organized by SKB and Eden Social Welfare Foundation, this charity campaign for distant village children started from a 2016 event, named “Fly Baby Elephant! Draw Your Dreams In Colors”, and invited many renown art-illustrators going into rural towns to teach the children on drawing.

Ms Sheng Yu-ping, director of Southern District RD Center of Eden Social Welfare Foundation, pointed out that due to the economic burdens of the family many children in distant villages lacked the adequate resource to touch the world outside their family environment and school curriculum.

This situation prompt Eden Foundation to cooperate with SKB to launch this charity campaign calling the public to concern the education and development of the children living in distant tribes and villages, Ms Sheng said.

Ms Chang Wei-jun, the SKB organizer of this children painting exhibition, expressed that a special SKB model of roller ball pen preferred by many art-illustrators were also on sale for charity’s sake. Anyone who purchase this special SKB roller ball pen, half of the payment will offer to the children charity account in Eden Social Welfare Foundation. For more information, people can dial the phone number +886-7-3159666 or visit SKB website.
