Gender Justice Honored By PCT At The First Sunday Of Annual November
Reported by Lin Yi-yin
To honor and respect the concept of gender justice, with a purpose to conscientize the awareness of gender justice in the church lives among the believers, the first Sunday of annual November was set up as a Gender Justice Sunday by PCT General Assembly since 2012.
Rev. Wang Ching-tsai, director of PCT’s Gender Justice Committee, encourages the church when assembled on Gender Justice Sunday to reflect whether the rights of life for all creatures are treated equal with justice.
Many traditional cultures and stereo-typed concepts, like white collars are superior to blue collars, male better than female, boss supersedes employees, Christian overrides non-Christian, whites oust blacks, and west replaces east etc, are actually man-made prejudices without a solid foundation, reminded Rev Wang, and all these discrimination embedded unconsciously in our cultures and daily lives deserve to be reviewed and cast away in order to let “everything old has passed away” and enter into a kingdom of God that “everything has become new!”
“If a Christian really loves God, he or she has to respect for the characteristics of life living amazingly on every other person. Because how we treat others reflects the ways how we treat God. Only in love, can we have real respect toward each other, as all the law and the prophets hang on love”, remarked Rev Wang.
