Rev. Kao Chun-ming Is Awarded An Honorary Doctor Degree By Aoyama Gakin University

Reported by Chen Yi-fan

On November 2, Rev Kao Chun-ming was awarded an honorary degree of Doctor of International Politics from his alma mata – Aoyama Gakin University, for his extraordinary contributions among engaging missionary services for the Taiwan aborigines, pioneering theological education for the indigenous missionaries, and promoting the values on democratic freedom and human rights in Taiwan society.

Due to Rev Kao’s health status did not allow him a long distance flight to Japan to receive this award, Ms Jiang Ling-tze was entrusted to receive this award and read a letter of thanks from Rev Kao at the ceremony. Mr Hsieh Chang-ting, Taiwan’s ambassador to Japan, specially attended in this ceremony to witness this honorable moment for Rev. Kao. President Tsai Ing-wen also sent a telex message to congratulate and affirm Rev Kao’s efforts and sacrifices for building up Taiwan’s democracy and freedom in the most difficult days.

On November 3, under a thanks-giving service hosted by Rev Loh I-to, Mr Hoda Nobumitsu (president of alumni association of Aoyama Gakin University) and Prof Chen Hen-chao presented this honorary degree to Rev Kao, a most humble servant of God serving his beloved people on Taiwan without reservation.
