National Council of Churches Taiwan (NCCT) sponsored a “Christian Friendly Sports Match” on November 13, 2010 at Aletheia University in Tamsui. This is the fourth time the NCCT has hosted such an event, which included sports such as basketball, table tennis, badminton, relay, softball, tug of war, and other fun competitions.
About 500 participants took part in these games and they hailed from various churches including PCT, Methodist, Catholic, Lutheran, and Episcopal churches, and various Christian organiztions, such as YMCA.
At the end of the day, PCT came away with the top prize, having won the most points and YMCA came in a close second.
NCCT CEO, Archbishop John Hung of the Catholic Church in Taiwan, preached the sermon on that day, using the familiar verse “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” as his sermon title.
