“Through Open Space Technology, we were able to gather together 27 presbytery moderators, the General Secretary, and pastors from the Evangelism Committee and have them discuss and reach a consensus on the gist of One-leads-one New Doubling Movement,” said Rev. Lyim Hong-tiong, Associate General Secretary of the PCT.
He said the meeting allowed many pastors to voice their concerns or misgivings or questions regarding this new movement and provided an opportunity to clear up misunderstandings. Attendees later became active participants by helping to formulate 10 practical steps towards fulfilling the goals of this movement.
The 10 practical steps revolved mostly around topics such as: How to build a healthy church, how to place quality above quantity in church growth, how to design study materials suitable for seekers, believers, and potential leaders, contrasting the new and old “Doubling” movements, structural aspects of mission partnerships, how to use Bunun Aborigine ministries as a mission model, how budgeting figures into mission ministries, and how to create training material suitable for Aborigine churches.
