PCT helps UCA in Australia flood

The PCT has donated US$10,000 in flood relief to churches in Queensland, Australia, where recent floods have left many homeless. Concerned with the situation in Queensland, PCT General Secretary Andrew Chang wrote a letter to the Uniting Church in Australia (UCA) to express his concern on behalf of the PCT.

According to reports, Brisbane has been the worst hit area in recent flooding in Australia. However, members of the Brisbane Taiwanese Congregation of UCA are safe and sound because they live in the outskirts of the city.

PCT churches in Taiwan have been praying for churches in Australia and corresponding with them to get the latest update on the flood.

Upon hearing about the flood, PCT General Assembly leaders contacted UCA leaders and wired donations to be used for rescue and relief. Chang said UCA had been a great partner of PCT in missions ministries and the latter had also lent its support to Taiwan during past natural disasters.
