Dr Tsai Chiang-chin, Superintendent of Sinlau Christian Hospital(SCH), expressed that the dementia population has significantly increased following the population aging in recent years.

As SCH had started to serve the dementia elders in community with an efficient performance since 2014, Dr Tsai said, a successive version 2.0 long-term service initiated by the government is therefore a SCH’s priority to take care of more dementia elders in the community and educate the community residents to learn more about medical care and assistance of the dementia elders.

The curriculum of version 2.0 long-term care programs in the community include therapies of various kinds, like musics therapy, exercise therapy, story-telling therapy and etc. In the meantime, there are also many clinical methods, like counselling, referral service, care and visit and others, in order to help community residents identify the dementia elders and learn how to take care of the patients in community.
