Never Forget the Call of Justice From 228 Massacre

To remember the 73rd anniversary of 228 massacre event, the Presbyterian Church of Taiwan and many civilian groups held a solemn march, joining with action-drama and five statements from the young generation, amid Taipei streets in the afternoon on February 22nd.
Lawyer Lee Seng-hsiung, a veteran elder of Gi-Kong Presbyterian Church of Chi-Shin Presbytery, remarked that the future of Taiwan does not reside in a safe-zone guided by current “de facto” independence. Instead, we should work harder to build up and reach the “de jure” independence of Taiwan, finally to make our bid to join U.N. and contribute to world peace, he said.
He also called the perpetrators of 228 massacre to confess and repent for their grave sins, the relatives of those responsible for the brutal killings try not to cover up the historical facts, because our creator Lord is always full of mercy and willing .
Rev Lin Chon-chen, pastor of Kun-Shin Presbyterian Church of Tainan Presbytery, gave his prayer in the name of Jesus Christ blessing the audience and Taiwan society with God’s forever-lasting mercy, compassion and justice in love!
Rev Wu Shin-chan, the first PCT deaf pastor and the director of Church and Society Committee of Taipei Presbytery, expressed via the sign-languages of his wife – Mrs Wu Chen Tsu-mei – that this 73rd anniversary march of 228 massacre is to remind Taiwan society we should never forget the call of justice, especially when the meaning of this tragedy seems fading away in our more and more secular society.
