In the morning on December 11, Changhua Christian Hospital(CCH) held a thanksgiving service of renaming its hospital chapel after “梅監霧" (Chinese name of Campbell Naismith Moody). Rev Bin Cheng-long, chairman of CCH, professor Chen Mu-kuan, superintendent of CCH, Rev Lu Chi-ming, director of Archives of the PCT, and many CCH staffs attended the service of renaming its hospital chapel as “梅監霧禮拜堂” (Campbell Naismith Moody Memorial Chapel).

The biennial mission conference, jointly initiated by both the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan (PCT) and the United Church of Christ in Japan (UCCJ) and held between Taiwan and Japan in turns annually, was once suspended due to the pandemic. However, the 17th round of the mission conference was successfully opened from November 25 to 27 at CCH International Education and Training Center (CCHIETC).

The latest assembly, sharing the experiences in Copying the Bible, was held with a love feast in the eve before Thanksgiving Day on November 17.

As Typhoon Fung-Wong brought a heavy rain in Yilan and Su’ao on Nov 12, especially the inundation in Su'ao was unprecedented in decades, a high-alert emergency of the affected area was immediately implemented. Only the military and heavy machinery were allowed to enter the inflicted areas. Rev Ng Tiet-gan, secretary of PCT Church and Society Committee, went to Su'ao Township to survey the wreak havoc after typhoon on Nov 13.

Following the fishing season of Pacific saury came to an end, many offshore fishing boats registered at Kaohsiung City returned to Cianjhen Fishing Port one by one. The PCTSFSC (Seamen and Fishermen's Service Center of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan) held a feast party at the Plaza of Cianjhen Fishing Port in the evening on November 7 to cater and entertain migrant fishermen who left their beloved family and home for a long period of time.

The National Taiwanese Presbyterian Council (NTPC), as a loyal partner of Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), comes back to visit Taiwan again after 25 years and launched a seven-day tour entitled as “A Solidarity Pilgrimage to Taiwan Mission" from October 24 to 30.

On October 10, according to ChinaAid, the Chinese authorities launched a systematic raids and arrests against a renown underground church - Zion Church, located across China’s cities and provinces among Beijing, Guangxi/Beihai, Chongqing, Zhejiang/Jiaxing, Fujian/Fuzhou and other places. Rev Jin Mingri, chief pastor of Beijing Zion Church, and Rev Yin Huibin were detained at home, while Rev Wang Lin, pastor of Shanghai Zion Church, was arrested on a trip to Shenzhen on October 9, and no body knew where he was jailed up to date. In addition, it’s very likely still more pastors, preachers and church co-workers of Zion Church were arrested without notice.
