Lonely Elders Greeted By Reunion Dinner In Lunar New Year’s Eve

Based on the biblical teaching of “love your neighbor as yourself”(Luke 10:27), A Skin-Graft With Love Foundation(ASGWLF) and Changhua Christian Hospital(CCH) held a Lunar New Year’s Eve Reunion Dinner with 30 tables of feast for the lonely elders on 19 January 2017. Except offering a direct and heart-felt one-by-one pick-up service for these lonely elders, ASGWLF and CCH also provided services including body-washing, hair cut, massage, and meals.
Mrs Jang Li-chu, chief executive officer of ASGWLF, expresses that the reason for carrying on holding the reunion dinner feast in the past 8 years is to care for the lonely elders and some disabled people who can seldom walk out of their houses to feel the warmth and hospitality from Taiwan society.
Mrs Hsu Ru-wen, a house-care worker of ASGWLF, shares how she becomes an experienced care worker through a period of 4 years long medical care job for his cousin due to a car accident. Now she takes care of 9 lonely elders, whose ages were old enough to be her grandpa and grandmom, and she treats them all just like her own families.
During the reunion dinner, Service Corporation Taiwan, a long-term patron of ASGWLF, also brings two musical bands, Ming-yi Saxophone Band and Flying Moon Flute Band, to entertain the elders with some good-old-day songs. Dr Chou Hsien-chan, Vice Superintendent of CCH, Mrs Jan Li-chu, and Mrs Chiu Trei-ron, cheif officer of Long Term Care Section of Public Health Bureau under Changhua County Government, jointly deliver cash and gifts to comfort the elders and wish them have a very happy lunar new year!
