When it comes to the 67th anniversary of 228 massacre since 1947, Lin Family Murders also has passed 34 years from 1979. At 9:30 p.m. on February 28th, a memorial service for Lin Yi-hsiung’s mother, Yu A-mei, and Lin’s twin daughters, Lian-jun and Tin-jun, was held to commemorate the 34th anniversary of this hideous family murder. Not only all the families of Lin Yi-hsiung, including his wife Fan Su-ming, his daughter Lin Huan-chun, son-in-law Joel Linton and five grand daughters, had attended this memorial service, former DPP chairwoman Tsai In-wen and DPP lawmaker Zeng Li-chun also took part in this assembly.

Rev. Zeng Hsin-jen, session moderator of Gi-kong Presbyterian Church, gave the sermon titled as “Love Your Neighbor As Yourself”. Based on the bible verse, Luke 10: 25~37, Rev. Zeng encouraged the audience to learn the spirit of good Samaritan loving our neighbor as ourselves. He paised the charity groups, like the medical care offered to Taiwan’s leprosy patients by Dr. George Gushue-Taylor’s Happy Mount Sanatorium and current social service provided to the poor by Grace Home Church Association, who are true witness to the spirit of loving our neighbors.

My Bonnie, a most loved children lyric by Lian-jun and Tin-jun in their innocent life, was also arranged to be sung by the audience. Many people wept in the song. And the couple of Lin Yi-hsiung and Fan Su-ming dropped their emotional tears in a deep remembrance.
