Rev Che Hsiu-fen Ordained As PCT Missionary To Serve Taiwanese Students At London

Repoted by Lin Wan-ting

In the afternoon on September 17, a thanks-giving service was held to ordain Rev Chen Hsiu-fen as a missionary of Ping-tung Presbytery to serve Taiwanese students via Lumen United Reformed Church at London, UK.

Rev Liu Chu-en, Moderator of Ping-tung Presbytery, expressed that current evangelical mission would be no more cast as a one-way traffic, but going toward an interactive and cooperative partnership. If Taiwanese students, studied in London, could be well served by PCT missionary, and those students’ families could also be touched by such service, then this would form a good cycle and become a real ecumenical mission in essence, Rev Liu said.

Rev Chen Hsiu-fen shared her arresting encounter of church martyrs’ lives and histories, when she studied in a French seminary as a student, which continued to inspire her being brave enough to deidicate herself as a missionary for the gospel’s sake. She also expressed deep appreciation for the patronage, teaching and love generously given to her by those faithful pastors and countless brothers and sisters.
