Taiwan’s Self-Determination Appealed On 67th Anniversary of Treaty of San Francisco

Reported by Chiu Kuo-rong

At 9:08 pm on September 8, a flag-raising ceremony for Taiwan’s self-determination is held before the Presidential Building on Katagalan Boulevard. Rev Huang Tsung-sen, pastor of Chi-Nan Presbyterian Church, is invited to give his prayer for this anniversary event jointly organized by Taiwan Republic Office and Creative YuShan Society.

Mr Wang Hsien-chi, founder of the Office of Taiwan Republic, remarks that the sovereignty of Taiwan had already been given to Taiwanese people since the Treaty of San Francisco was signed on September 8, 1951.

Because Japan government, during her signature of this San Francisco treaty with representatives from 48 countries 67 years ago, only renounced the sovereignty of Taiwan yet never declared to which country Taiwan’s sovereignty was surrendered, Mr Wang says this is the true genesis moment of a country called Taiwan Republic.

During his prayer, Rev Huang deeply believes God is the ultimate liberator for the oppressed and the despaired in history. God will comfort those suffering and crying, Rev Huang says, adding that the suffering of Taiwanese has reached to God due to the brutal slaughter, massacre and exploitation imposed to Taiwanese by KMT regime, and the public are also very appreciated to so many Taiwanese are awakened to join the nation-building movement toward a new and independent Taiwan!
