Tainan City immersed in Christmas cheer and Christmas lights

A lively worship celebration took place on the courts of Jhongyi Elementary School on December 5, 2010. Themed “Guarding the city, transforming Tainan”, the worship celebration was co-sponsored by Tainan Christian Association and 8 other local churches.

With a glowing orange-and-yellow cross beaming on center stage, worship teams took turns singing, praying, and declaring the coming of Christ. Their worship celebration attracted the attention of people who were enjoying a Sunday afternoon walk near Confucius Park. Seizing this outreach opportunity, church volunteers were also present throughout the park distributing gospel tracts and Christmas invitations to everyone nearby who had stopped to watch the show.

Later on in the day, a Christmas candle lighting event was held at the National Museum of Taiwan Literature – a few blocks away from the school. The Christmas lights trail can now be seen every evening starting at the museum, and continuing on to Minsheng Garden, Nanmen Presbyterian Church, Thai-Ping-Geng Maxwell Memorial Church, and other places.

A Christmas parade and caroling will be held on December 19, 2010, on the grounds of Jhonyi Elementary School again.
