Ren-ho Presbyterian Church in Tainan celebrated its 30th anniversary on August 7, 2011 by focusing on themes they cared about most, including, biblical literacy, environmental protection and caring for the poor and marginalized.
The church’s anniversary was a great opportunity for church members and seekers to get acquainted with the church’s various ministries through mini-exhibitions. These included an array of floral arrangements, a choir performance, a recorder ensemble performance, and a singing competition.
Besides these mini-exhibitions, other interesting activities included a bazaar, and a chance to exchange recyclable materials for free popcorn. In the weeks leading up to that day, the church’s women fellowship and youth fellowship also performed by memorizing Psalms 115 and 23 and reciting them to different kinds of beats. The youths also recited in chronological order all the books of the Old and New Testament and added some funky footwork to help with the memorization.
The church also encouraged families to sign up and take part in the church’s singing contest and use it as an opportunity to reflect on the deeper meaning of these hymns or choruses.
