Seminar and Picture-Book Launch For Christian Education Are Promulgated By PCT Education Ministry Committee
Reported by Lin Yi-yin
To promulgate Christian education in PCT, two events were launched at Taipei by PCT Education Ministry Committee: a spiritual formation seminar was held at Chi-nan Presbyterian Church on January 7; a picture-book launch at Chung-shan Presbyterian Church on January 8.
Rev Liu Jin-chang, president of Presbyterian Bible College, and Dr Lin Yu-lin, chairwoman of Taiwan Association of Pastoral Counselors, were invited to address on the topic of spiritual formation at Chi-nan Presbyterian Church.
Rev Liu shared with the audience about his book, entitled as “My heart longs for my Lord” outlining a brief history on Christian spiritual formation, and disclosed his personal spiritual experience as meditating on the scripture’s verses to communicate with God.
Dr Lin Yu-lin also shared how to cast a Christian spirituality via her book, entitled as “Between Man and God” describing a Trinity-Archetypal methodology: finding true self in the Bible; understanding archetypal pastoral guidance in predestination, calling and justification; realizing God’s unique blueprint as “it is no longer I who live; but it is Christ who lives in me”(Galatians 2:20).
Launched in the Chong-shan Presbyterian Church, the picture-book, entitled as “A Fool Doctor – Mr Wang Jing-ho”, was published as the first volume of a series of heroic stories about Taiwan Christian leaders edited for the children and teenagers in PCT’s Summer Camp Educational Materials.
The content of this picture-book described the history of how Dr Wang Jing-ho was touched by the patients’ sufferings of black-foot-disease, after he opened a clinic at Tainan’s Pei-men county, and how he co-operated with Dr. William Shia to serve those helpless patients with a simple heart in faith and the great enthusiasm from God!
