Garden of Mercy Held Thanksgiving Service to Care AIDS Babies For Two Decades

Reported by Lin Yi-yin

Established in 1999 to take care of AIDS babies, deserted by poor young mothers or families, the Garden of Mercy Foundation held a 20 years thanks-giving service at Chi-Nan Presbyterian Church on September 28.

Rev Marc S., a Swiss pastor and one of the founding directors of the Garden of Mercy Foundation, is specially invited back to Taiwan to visit current ministries and services offered to AIDS babies. He delivered a sermon entitled – The Floating Island – to pay tribute to this ministry’s 20 years service for Taiwan society.

The audience in the service also shared a video of 10-year-old, Hunt(in pseudonym), expressing fluently in English to her mother Mrs Thomas about his great passion to go to school. Behind this video, Hunt was an AIDS baby received by the Garden of Mercy and adopted by the family of Thomas in U.S.

In the video, Mrs Thomas gave her thanksgiving to the Garden of Mercy Foundation for the compassionate medic-care, generously given to those AIDS babies not due to their fault, just because they are one of the least in our society.
