Te-Sheng Presbyterian Church in Kaohsiung recently held “Let Love Arise 2010 Concert” to raise funds to support the children of the late Rev. Wan Hung-chieh, who passed away recently.

The concert held at Kaohsiung Cultural Center on July 7, 2010, featured impressive performances by Te-Sheng Church Orchestra. This ensemble not only performs during regular Sunday services at the church, but also stages concerts periodically as a means for its members to get involved in community outreach.

Te-Sheng Church’s pastor, Rev. Hu Chung-ming, said Rev. Wan was a gifted pastor who endeared himself to many people. The concert was aimed at meeting the educational needs of Wan’s young children, currently in grades 3, 6, and 9.

Rev. Wan used to pastor Chung-Cheng Presbyterian Church and died on April 13, 2010 when he accidentally fell from the upper floor of his old home. He is survived by his wife, Chang Jui-fen, and three young children.

Rev. Hu, who’d once been appointed as chairman of PCT’s General Assembly Ministers Committee, remarked that many ministers had fallen ill, been hospitalized, or passed away recently. He urged PCT members to pray and care for their ministers’ health and daily needs.

As for Rev. Wan’s family, his wife has recently begun working at Zuoying Presbyterian Church in community outreach ministries. The family has also moved to a new home in Kaohsiung’s Zuoying area as well.
