One of PCT’s long-standing traditions includes hosting the annual “Moderator’s Table Tennis Match” and this year’s match – the 55th Moderator’s Table Tennis Match – was held in Changhua City on November 5~6, 2010, with PCT General Assembly Moderator Rev. Lai Hsien-chang serving as the emcee.
Besides hosting the games, Lai also chaired the opening ceremonies where he shared his experiences and perspectives as a PCT Moderator. He also commented on the upcoming Five Special Municipalities elections and issues put forth by candidates that concerned PCT most, such as electing candidates that were upright in character and pro-Taiwan.
The table tennis competitions featured singles and doubles matches, with more than 200 contestants registered under categories such as “Presbytery”, “Church Organization”, “Pastor”, or “Elder & Deacon”. In the finals, Shou-shan Presbytery won in the “Presbytery” category while Mackay Memorial Hospital won in the “Organization” category.
Lai said he was pleased to see everyone enjoy some much-needed exercise, rest, and fellowship through this event. He also encouraged everyone to persevere despite hardships and problems in their churches and ministries and urged them to rely on God for strength to withstand and overcome any disillusionment.
